Telling the story backwards... It was a New Moon night, I was on my way back home. The street was lit only by the light pollution of the city. Thus, it was all dark in city terms. I stopped as I wanted to take a picture of the street going up hill, the moment I did it, the street lamp turned on. 

Another day I left home before sunrise for a vacation. As I was on bus, the day started to illuminate and I saw the moon that was setting. There was a street lamp that was still on, very close to moon. As soon as I took a picture of the moon and the lamp, the lamp turned off.
